As you’re already aware, Colfax Construction has begun taking place outside the Lowenstein Complex and is projected to take some time to reach completion. We hope that the impact on the complex here will be minimal and want to reiterate that our parking garage (which is once again FREE) can easily be accessed via Columbine or Elizabeth from either 13th or 14th Ave. But even outside the complex, the construction is already having an impact on dozens of the local businesses on our stretch of Colfax. If you love the character of the city that this neighborhood and the legendary Colfax Avenue embodies, please make sure that you are supporting the small and independent businesses throughout the construction to help ensure that everyone pulls through. We support all of our neighbors in the complex here, our new neighbors like Maria Empanada and Mama Jo’s Barbecue, established spots like All In A Dream Comics and Trattoria Stella and Hooked on Colfax and Z Cycle, on up east through Lula Rose Coffee and the P.S. Lounge, all of whom are being impacted by this – and all of them should still be here when the rapid bus lane is open! And don’t forget the folks west of us who are already feeling the pinch. UPDATE 9/19/25:
While Twist happily has a FREE parking garage accessible from either Columbine or Elizabeth streets, the City of Denver has provided a helpful parking map to show where you can find parking to access any business along the affected stretch of Colfax during the BRT construction project.
